If you are asking a question like “How satisfied are you with your job?”, Qualtrics recognizes that as a common question and automatically creates a 7-option scale from “Very Dissatisfied” to “Very Satisfied”. From here, you can go on to edit these options on your own and decrease or increase the number of options available. You can even change the automatic options that were provided to another list of automatic responses. Qualtrics has a wide range of such responses, like “Never…Less than once a month…2-3 times a month…” , “One of the worst…below average…average…one of the best…best”, etc.

You ultimately have all the freedom to manipulate these choices, but remember that you will want a proper range of responses so as not to get skewed or biased data.

Learn more about how to edit questions/choices from the Qualtrics help webpage.
