If you’d like to have student-submitted papers checked for originality, or if you suspect that a paper may not be completely original, you can use the Turnitin software that is integrated with Moodle. You can use Turnitin via Moodle even if you’re not actively using Moodle for your class, since we create all courses in Moodle based on the information in Banner, and we automatically enroll all the students in the Moodle course prior to each semester.

For more details and specific instructions, please see the Digital Pedagogy and Scholarship blog page on Turnitin:

Note that it’s possible to create a hidden assignment if you’d just like to check a paper or two, or you can create an assignment for the entire class to submit their papers to be checked automatically.

Questions about Turnitin can be directed to the DPS group.
