We had a mac with malware today *gasp* *horror*

It was actually pretty easy to kill.

look in /Library/Internet Plug-ins.

Kill conduit/geneio/vsearch/anything that looks suspicious. (cmd + delete, you will be prompted for the admin password)

Look in ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins (go to the Go menu in finder, select go to folder and type ~/Library to access the folder on 10.7+)
Delete sketchy things – this will include toolbars, cash or coupons extensions, search helpers, etc.

Look in /Library/Launch Agents/ and /Library/Launch Daemons/

remove vsearch junk.

Remove sketchy things from the applications folder (like  conduit – again, you’ll likely recognize what qualifies as ‘sketchy’)

Reboot and verify.
