For faculty and staff Bucknell computers, Bucknell supports Outlook for Windows users and Mail for Mac users. These are the supported programs for on-campus work machines. For students, there are a variety of options. Most students prefer to use Zimbra Web, easily accessible at https://webmail.bucknell.edu. Full-featured email clients offer a wealth of advantages over web-based programs such as Zimbra Web, Gmail, or Yahoo. If you have Office, or if you are a Mac user, we have a lot of documentation for both Outlook and Mail. If you are looking for a full email client other than Outlook or Mail, we recommend Thunderbird by Mozilla. It is easy to set up, works fine on campus, gives you plenty of options for add-ons and extensions, is fully customizable, and best of all, it is completely free. We haveĀ complete instructions on configuring Thunderbird to work at Bucknell. Instructions for setting up any of these email clients on the Bucknell network are available onĀ AskISR.
